Maryland baseball utility man Hollis Porter was named Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Porter is the first Terps to win the honor since Matt Shaw in 2023.
Over the last week, Porter posted a .632 batting average with four doubles, four home runs and 15 RBI. He went 5 for 6 with a career-high six RBIs in the Terps’ 22-11 win over Northwestern Sunday.
His standout week ups his batting average to .319 this season, with 36 RBIs and 12 home runs, which are tied for the 11th-most home runs nationally and the third-most in the Big Ten.
