No. 2 Maryland men’s lacrosse graduate long stick midfielder Jack McDonald was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
McDonald played a key role in Maryland’s 13-9 win over then-No. 5 Princeton, helping hold the Tigers starting midfield to just three goals. He also won 16-of-26 faceoffs and recorded three groundballs.
The award is McDonald’s first Big Ten weekly award of his career.
