Two Maryland volleyball players received Big Ten postseason honors, it was announced Wednesday.
Pin hitter Samantha Schnitta was named to the All-Big Ten second team, which comes as no surprise. Schnitta set the program’s all-time single-season service ace record with 88, breaking the previous tally of 67. She surpassed the record set in 2003 by Lynnsy Jones against Ohio State on Nov. 15. Schnitta finished the season leading the country in service aces (88) and aces per set (0.8).
In her second and final year at Maryland, Schnitta also led the team with 368 kills, ahead of outside hitter Sam Csire by 78.
