Former Maryland men’s soccer goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair was called up to the Canadian men’s senior national team Wednesday.
The 23-year-old Ontario native was a key factor between the posts for the Terps during their 2018 National Championship run, a season in which St. Clair played every game minute in goal and was a shot-stopping anchor for the team.
Selected seventh overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft by Minnesota United FC, the youngster allowed just 12 goals in 1170 minutes this season while racking up 48 saves. Of those 12 goals, only five were allowed in the last eight games of the regular season.
