No. 5 Maryland men’s basketball losed out the Orlando Invitational with a dominant 84-63 victory over Marquette to win the tournament Sunday, thanks in large part to the efforts of Anthony Cowan Jr.
Cowan surpassed 1500 career points and moved up to No. 18 on Maryland’s all-time scoring list after dropping 72 points over three games in the tournament. He passed Derrick Lewis, who had 1458 career points from 1984-88.
In addition to passing the scoring mark, Cowan also moved up to eighth on the all-time assist list as he reached 473 assists on Sunday, passing Kevin McLinton at 469.
