Maryland wrestling took part in the Clarion Open with 24 wrestlers in total competing for the Terps last weekend.
It was the program’s first tournament in almost two years and 11 Terps performed well enough to place at the event. Redshirt senior wrestler Zach Schrader was named the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week after claiming a victory in the finals through a medical forfeit. Before the forfeit victory in the final round, Schrader made it past four different wrestlers via two technical falls and two decisions.
Looking at the team as a whole, 10 wrestlers made it to the quarterfinal round, while eight other Terps made it to the semifinals.
