No. 7 Maryland men’s basketball teammates Jalen Smith and Anthony Cowan Jr. continue to get recognition as two of the best players in the country.
The duo was included in the 50 players that were named to the 2020 Citizen Naismith Trophy Men’s Player of the Year watch list, which is awarded to the most outstanding college basketball player, on Monday.
The Terps are just one of seven schools, including Davidson, Duke, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, to have two players put on the list.
The last Maryland player to win the prestigious award was Joe Smith in 1995.
