Taulia Tagovailoa was selected as the Maxwell Award Player of the Week Tuesday, just one of four honors for the quarterback following his performance in Maryland football’s overtime victory against Minnesota.
The Big Ten named Tagovailoa its Co-Offensive Player of the Week, alongside Justin Fields, on Monday. He was also featured on the Davey O’Brien Great 8 list and was selected for the Manning Award Star of the Week, which features eight quarterbacks.
The Ewa Beach, Hawaii, native completed 26 of his 35 passes for 394 yards and also rushed for 59 yards on eight attempts in the Terps’ 45-44 upset of Minnesota last Friday evening.
