It didn’t take long for Maryland men’s basketball to have its first cancellation of the 2020-21 season.
The Terps’ game scheduled for against Monmouth University on Dec. 1 has been cancelled following a positive coronavirus test of a”‘tier one member” on the opponent’s team.
Monmouth lists this group s as “student-athletes, coaches, and support staff.” The member who tested positive will enter a 14-day quarantine.
Maryland is “actively searching for a new opponent for Tuesday,” per a team spokesperson, as the cancelation of this game leaves the team with just five nonconference games remaining.
The Terps will host a multi-team event this weekend, facing Navy on Friday and Mount Saint Mary’s on Sunday.
