This past Monday, Maryland men’s basketball officially extended a scholarship offer to 2022 five-star power forward AJ Casey.
The Chicago native ranks as the nation’s 20th best overall player and sixth best player at his position, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Casey, who currently attends Whitney Young High School, possesses great athleticism at 6’8 and 180 lbs. In addition to his rim-protecting ability on the defensive side of the ball, he is a multi-faceted scorer who can finish both around the rim and from the perimeter.
Whitney Young is Casey’s third school in the past three years, attending Simeon and Tinley Park, respectively the two years prior.
