Maryland men’s basketball point guard Anthony Cowan Jr. was selected by the Memphis Hustle with the No. 16 overall pick in the NBA G League Draft Monday.
The Terrapin great will head to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, next month to join the Memphis Grizzlies’ G League affiliate as it begins its shortened season.
Cowan ranks seventh in Maryland history in points (1881), fifth in assists (584), second in minutes (4395) and fourth in made free throws (579), leading to three All-Big Ten honors. He also broke Keith Booth’s school record with 130 straight starts.
