While Maryland men’s basketball got all the attention today due to its placement at the No. 7 spot in the preseason AP Preseason Top 25, the Maryland women’s basketball team is also obtained some preseason recognition on Monday.
The Terps were picked by both the league’s media and the Big Ten head coaches, unanimously, to win the regular season conference title this season. Senior guard Kaila Charles was also voted Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year by both parties.
Maryland won the conference title last year, finishing the season with an 29-5 record, and have accomplished the feat four of the last five years since joining the conference.
