Maryland sophomore Michal Cekovsky hadn’t spoken to reporters in weeks before Tuesday night, so he beamed as the media horde surrounded him and peppered him with questions about his performance in a 93-62 win over Bowie State. It didn’t matter who the opponent was or how late in the season it came, because Cekovsky finished with a career-high 14 points in 18 minutes and won praise from Maryland Coach Mark Turgeon in the process.
“We need Ceko. To get where we want to be, and be great the rest of the Big Ten and postseason, we need Ceko to just keep getting better,” Turgeon said.
