The Maryland men’s basketball team had never started 15-1 in its history, falling one game short three times, including a loss to Stevens Institute 90 years ago.
The Terps haven’t had too many players as clutch as Melo Trimble.
Despite coming out of Wednesday’s blowout win over Rutgers with a leg ion njury that kept him on the bench the entire second half, Trimble brought the third-ranked Terps of a second half funk here against Wisconsin at the Kohl -sCenter and then saved Maryland with his first last-second college game-winner.
A 3-point shot from 25 feet straightaway by Trimble with Zak Showalter flying in his face gave the Terps a 63-60 win – and their second straight Big Ten road victory.
