COLLEGE PARK — After Ohio State was crushed by Maryland on Saturday in the most one-sided defeat in his 12 seasons in Columbus, Buckeyes coach Thad Matta gushed about one Terp in particular.
It wasn’t junior forward forward Robert Carter Jr., who scorched Ohio State with a career-high 25 points on 10 of 13 shooting, including making all four of his 3-point shots.
It wasn’t senior guard Rasheed Sulaimon, who made nine of 10 shots in scoring a season-high 22 points. It wasn’t freshman center Diamond Stone, who quietly put up 15 points of his own with a mini-clinic of low-post moves.
