Former Maryland basketball star Melo Trimble is staying in the Australian National Basketball League for another year, but with a new team.
Trimble signed a one-year contract last week with Melbourne United, who finished second in the league last season. He averaged a league-high 22.5 points along with 4.6 assists per game last season, but was with the worst team in the league, Cairns Taipans.
He’ll quickly fit into United’s starting rotation, as point guard Casper Ware Jr. recently left to sign a contact with the Sydney Kings. And though his contract specifics haven’t been announced publicly, it looks like Trimble will be getting a raise as well.
