Maryland guard Melo Trimble scored five points in nine minutes off the bench for the United States (2-2) in a 111-108 loss to Canada (4-0) in a men's basketball semifinal at the Pan American Games in Toronto. Trimble shot 1-for-4 from the field, including 1-for-2 on 3-point attempts and 2-for-2 from the foul line, and had one assist and two fouls. Bobby Brown led the Americans with 25 points and had a game-best seven assists, Anthony Randolph contributed 21 points and a USA-high six rebounds, Ron Baker added 15 points and three steals, and Denzel Valentine scored 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc.
