Melo Trimble didn’t quite get to relive his last-second magic from last year’s win at Wisconsin in the closing seconds of Saturday’s 73-72 loss to then-No. 23 Purdue at Xfinity Center.
Trimble missed a pull-up jump shot from inside 10 feet that he said he “babied” – short-arming it with 16 seconds remaining.
But one aspect of Trimble’s 22-point performance against the Boilermakers that he won't lose sleep over is the fact that he went to the free throw line 15 times, making 14.
Asked if he was surprised to get as many calls, Trimble smiled.
