Melo Trimble does not play in 76ers' NBA Summer League opener

The former Maryland men’s basketball star, who turned pro after his junior season in College Park, did not play Wednesday night against the Boston Celtics. He was one of six 76ers to remain on the bench in their 89-88 loss in Utah.

Philadelphia plays again Wednesday night, against the host Jazz, before concluding its first Summer League slate Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs. The 76ers then move on to the Las Vegas Summer League, where they'll play at least five games.
