After returning a punt for a touchdown for the first time at any level of his career in Saturday's 31-13 over Rutgers in College Park, Maryland senior Teldrick Morgan (Meade) was named the Big Ten's special teams player of the week today.
Morgan's 83-yard touchdown return was the first after a punt since Will Likely III had one against Bowling Green last season. Morgan took over the bulk of the punt returns after Likely tore his ACL against Minnesota on Oct. 15.
Morgan joins running backs Ty Johnson and Lorenzo Harrison as Maryland players to earn the Big Ten award.
