Just four days after she helped the Maryland women’s lacrosse team to a second consecutive national championship, Terrapins junior midfielder Taylor Cummings earned another repeat decoration Thursday when she was announced as the 2015 Tewaaraton Award winner. The award, which Cummings won as a sophomore last spring, is given annually to the top college women’s lacrosse player in the country.
The former McDonogh star is the sixth Maryland player to win the award, and just the second to two-time winner in school history. Former Terrapins star Katie Schwarzmann also won the honor in consecutive seasons in 2012 and 2013.
