Maryland coach Mark Turgeon said Friday before practice that Diamond Stone will come off the bench Saturday at Northwestern despite scoring a freshman school-record 39 points Wednesday against Penn State.
“We’ll see as time goes on [about starting Stone],” Turgeon said. “I’ve got to keep him out of foul trouble. I think it helps him coming off the bench. He started the second half, obviously that was big. He played starter minutes, he finished the game. That’s really what’s important.”
His performance, especially after halftime, led the Terps to a come-from-behind 70-64 win at Xfinity Center.
