Maryland defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson will skip his senior season to enter the NFL Draft, he announced on Twitter Thursday.
After playing defensive end for his first two-plus seasons at Maryland, he kicked inside to defensive tackle when the defense switched from a 3-4 to a 4-3. He rebounded nicely after suffering a season-ending injury three games into his 2014 season, finishing his redshirt junior year second on the team in sacks with 6.5 and third in tackles for loss with 12.5.
He is the Terps' second defensive lineman to leave early for the draft in 2015, following Yannick Ngakoue, the team's single-season sack record-holder.
