Maryland’s Quinton Jefferson was added to the 2016 Senior Bowl roster as a fourth-year junior graduate on Thursday, giving the defensive tackle an early chance to impress pro scouts after declaring for the NFL draft last month.
Jefferson, who won a medical redshirt last April after suffering a season-ending knee injury in 2014, emerged as one of the Big Ten’s most productive defensive lineman during Maryland’s dismal 2015 campaign. He finished with 12.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks, among 39 total tackles. He also registered an interception, blocked kick, forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
