Maryland’s Melo Trimble earns second team All-Big Ten honors

Maryland’s five starters each earned a place on the Big Ten’s all-conference list on Monday night, with sophomore guard Melo Trimble headlining the group’s inclusion by picking up second team honors.

Freshman center Diamond Stone earned third team honors and was included on the league’s All-Freshman team. Senior guard Rasheed Sulaimon, senior forward Jake Layman and junior power forward Robert Carter Jr. were each tabbed as honorable mention selections.

Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine was named the league’s most valuable player, while Indiana’s Tom Crean took home coach of the year honors. Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ was named the league’s top freshman.
