Maryland sophomore point guard Melo Trimble will declare for the NBA draft but not hire an agent, while freshman center Diamond Stone also will declare and plans to hire an agent, the team announced Monday night.
Trimble can return to the Terps next season if he does not sign with an agent. Maryland junior forward Robert Carter Jr., like Stone, also plans to sign with an agent, which would void their eligibility for 2016-17.
Trimble averaged 15.5 points per game over his first two years in College Park. The preseason Big Ten Conference Player of the Year, he was a second-team all-league selection this season.
