Justin Jackson underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in December, and while he’s inching toward 100 percent, he won’t be a part of the NBA Summer League, the Orlando Sentinel reported Thursday.
The Magic acquired Jackson, who went 43rd in the NBA Draft, in a trade with Denver. Orlando’s other draft picks, plus a handful of other rookies and fringe NBA players, will start their summer slate on July 6.
Jackson’s rehab kept him sidelined for most of the draft process, including the NBA combine, but summer league was always considered a possibility until now.
