Maryland's Davis accepts Senior Bowl invite

Maryland cornerback Sean Davis accepted an invite to the Reese's Senior Bowl, the team announced Tuesday.

Davis will take part in the showcase event on Jan. 30 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

Davis, who moved from safety to cornerback in the offseason, is second on the Terps with 71 tackles. He also has two interceptions, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery. His five forced fumblees rank second nationally.

Davis is one of the most experienced Maryland players. He ranks second on the defense with 38 career starts, behind only safety Anthony Nixon (39). He reached 300 career tackles against Michigan State, becoming the first Terp since Demetrius Hartsfield in 2012 to reach that mark, and when he reached 200 solo tackles, he was the first Maryland player to do so since D'Qwell Jackson in 2005.
