Rising Maryland senior wide receiver Marcus Leak has left the program for personal reasons, the Sun's Don Markus is reporting Friday. Leak caught 55 passes for 775 yards and six touchdowns in three seasons in College Park, and is not expected to return to the program.
The move means that Maryland will lose its top four receivers from 2014. Stefon Diggs declared for the NFL Draft and Deon Long graduated, while Leak and Jacquille Veii have now both left the program this offseason. The Terrapins still have plenty of depth at the position and a young star of a position coach in Keenan McCardell, but Leak was supposed to provide a veteran anchor for a young unit breaking in a new starting quarterback.
