Maryland women’s lacrosse defender Lizzie Colson capped off her redshirt senior season earning the title of Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association National Defender of the Year.
The past season was the first time Colson stepped on the field since 2019 because of her ACL injury and she took full advantage of her final year with the Terps.
Colson led the nation with 49 caused turnovers which is the second-most in program history. She also led the conference with 59 groundballs. In 10 games this season, Colson had at least four groundballs and had a season-high seven on April 8 against Rutgers.
