No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse and Cornell entered their Saturday night matchup as two of the nation's three remaining undefeated teams. There could only be one, and the clock struck zero on Cornell's perfect season as the Terps beat the Big Red, 17-9.
Cornell struck first, but Megan Whittle tied it up for Maryland with 27:23 left in the first half. Taylor Cummings scored her first goal of the game 24 seconds later, Bryn Boucher scored 34 seconds after Cummings and Cummings scored again 29 seconds after that. Maryland put up four goals in a span of 1:27 that came in the game's first five minutes.
