Maryland women’s basketball’s Channise Lewis was named to the watch list for the 2018-19 Nancy Lieberman Award, annually given to the top point guard in women’s college basketball.
The sophomore point guard joins the list of 20 after averaging 4.7 assists per game as a freshman. The crop of lead guards is headlined by reigning Lieberman Award winner Sabrina Ionescu.
Lewis and Ionescu are joined on the list by, among others, Oregon State’s Destiny Slocum, a former Terp, and Carmen Grande, who transferred to Big Ten foe Ohio State after averaging the second-most assists in the nation for Ball State with 9.
