After winning the regular-season Big Ten championship once again, Maryland women’s basketball is the top seed in this week’s conference tournament. The No. 6 Terps ride into Indianapolis with a 27-3 record and a six-game winning streak. They walloped Minnesota by 33 points on Sunday to clinch first place alone.
Maryland’s first postseason game is Friday at noon against ninth-seeded Iowa (19-12, 9-10 Big Ten). The Hawkeyes knocked off No. 8 Michigan, 97-85, on Thursday afternoon. Freshman center Megan Gustafson led Iowa with 25 points and 10 boards off the bench. Junior guard Ally Disterhoft notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, while sophomore forward Chase Coley posted a 20-10-6.
