Maryland women’s basketball’s early-season struggles were on full display against Green Bay early Friday afternoon. The team failed to make a three-pointer in the first half, and the Phoenix led by as much as eight in the second quarter.
But just when it looked like the Terps would sink back into recent patterns and throw the game away, they stuck around and hung around.
By keeping it close, Maryland put itself within striking position. So when the Phoenix shot 27.8% from the field in the third quarter, the Terps’ high-end talent could take the game.
That’s exactly what they did.
