Fresh off a second consecutive trip to the Final Four, the Maryland women’s basketball team were honored at the State House in Annapolis on Monday.
The team met with Gov. Larry Hogan and Lt. Gov. Boyd K. Rutherford, who gave the team a governor’s citation for representing the state. The Terrapins were also saluted in front of the state Senate and met with the House of Delegates.
Junior center Malina Howard was also recognized for winning the Elite 89 award, which is given annually to the player with the highest grade point average in the Final Four.
