Bri McDaniel has repeatedly stressed the need for Maryland to get out to fast starts. The Terrapins aren’t the offensive juggernaut they have been in recent seasons and they’ve withstood a series of injuries that have cut their rotation to seven players, so playing from ahead is crucial.
McDaniel took on that responsibility Thursday as Maryland never trailed in a 79-63 victory over Wisconsin in the season’s home finale at the Xfinity Center. The Terrapins got off to a 12-2 lead, sparked in part by five points from McDaniel, and never looked back. A 14-2 run in the second quarter left no doubt.
