The Terrapins were forced to anxiously await the announcement of their destination after Friday night’s 72-64 loss to Northwestern in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament at Verizon Center. But even though that setback marked a sixth loss in ten games, Maryland had long known that it was a lock to make a third consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament. The team gathered at Coach Mark Turgeon’s house in Kensington to watch the selection show Sunday evening, with Turgeon and his players expected to meet with media in College Park later that evening.
