Maryland will open up its 2015-16 season at home on Friday against the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers, an NCAA Tournament team from two years ago.
Mount St. Mary's is coming off two double-digit exhibition game wins against Hood College and Randolph-Macon for a combined 36 points. That trend is likely to change as they play the No. 3 Terrapins at Xfinity Center.
It'l be the first official games in red and black for five-star recruit Diamond Stone, junior college transfer Jaylen Brantley, Duke transfer Rasheed Sulaimon and Georgia Tech transfer Robert Carter.
Coach Mark Turgeon will also have his first round of auditions for rotations against a Division I opponent as he and the Terps will try to move on without sophomore guard Dion Wiley, who will miss the season with a torn right meniscus.
