Since Maryland became an official member of the Big Ten on July 1, 2014, various Terps teams have won a combined 14 regular season and conference championships. That's tied with Michigan for the most in the conference during that time. It's not a perfect metric, because dominant regular season teams should win tournaments, and a few teams get to double-count. But as Maryland approaches the end of its second year of full competition in the Big Ten, one thing's pretty clear:
The Terrapins are really good at more sports than most of the Big Ten.
In two Big Ten years, Maryland's won the following tournaments and regular season titles:
2014-15: Field hockey (regular season), men's soccer (both), women's basketball (both), men's lacrosse (regular season), women's lacrosse (regular season)
2015-16: Field hockey (both), men's soccer (tournament), women's basketball (both), men's lacrosse (regular season), women's lacrosse (regular season).
