A Sunday doubleheader sweep gives Maryland a series win.
It was a weird weekend. Not only did Jordan Spieth throw away the Masters and the Spurs lose at home, but Maryland softball won a Big Ten series. The Terps took two of three games against Michigan State. Here’s how that happened:
Game summaries
Skylynne Ellazar knocked a two-run homer to right field in the bottom of the first, but everything was downhill from there. Michigan State right fielder Celeste Wood gave the Spartans a 3-2 lead with a two-run shot off Madison Martin in the third, and first baseman Sarah Gutknecht hit one out with two outs in the fifth.
