Despite losing nine games in a row to finish out the regular season, Maryland softball will be participating in the Big Ten tournament as a No. 11 seed.
The Terps will be facing No. 6-seed Illinois on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. ET, and will go on to face No. 3 Indiana in the following round, should they win.
It’s looking like a tough draw at this point for Maryland, as the Terps faced Illinois earlier this season on the road and were swept handily. The last game Maryland played against the Illini ended in five innings with a final score of 20-2, by far the team’s most demoralizing loss of the season.
