Maryland commit Jalen Smith has withdrawn from Friday night’s Capital Classic at Catholic University in Washington because of an injury, Mount Saint Joseph coach Pat Clatchey said Thursday.
Clatchey wrote in a text to The Baltimore Sun that his former star experienced tightness in his groin after a private workout Wednesday and will be ”unable to play” in the game.
Clatchey said the injury was “not serious” and that Smith, the All-Metro Player of the Year, would attend the game. Smith, the No. 14 prospect in the country according to 247sports.com, will attend the game.
