Maryland junior running back Jacquille Veii has been granted his release and will transfer, the school announced Tuesday evening.
The departure of Veii marks the third Maryland player to transfer in the past five days. Senior running back Albert Reid and senior safety Zach Dancel left the program last week.
Veii, the former Avalon star who established himself as one of the more energetic offensive players in the program over the past year, worked to separate himself at a crowded running back position during spring drills.
Initially arriving in College Park as a defensive back, he was moved to running back during his freshman season before switching to wide receiver a year ago.
