Maryland receiver Juwann Winfree suspended indefinitely

Maryland wide receiver Juwann Winfree has been suspended indefinitely for violating the school’s student-athlete conduct code, the university announced Monday.

Winfree is the second wide receiver to leave the team in the past two weeks, following the departure of Marcus Leak for what was described as “personal" issues.

As a freshman, Winfree played in eight games, catching 11 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Winfree was expected to be in the mix at receiver in 2015, particularly after Leak’s departure.

There was no comment from either Maryland coach Randy Edsall or athletic director Kevin Anderson regarding Winfree’s suspension.
