Maryland Coach Randy Edsall took his players out of their comfort zone on an otherwise routine practice Tuesday morning, blasting recorded crowd noise through the speakers at Byrd Stadium. The team got the message loud and clear: Saturday’s game at West Virginia will be unlike anything Maryland has experienced this season.
‘It’s a very tough environment. Their fans are passionate about their team. Sold out from what I understand. We know it will be loud,” Edsall said. “What we have to do is just go in and focus on ourselves.”
It was difficult for some Maryland players to focus at all early in practice Tuesday, as Edsall blared the simulated noise.
