Derwin Gray is officially the newest Terp in the NFL, after being selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round of the NFL Draft Saturday afternoon as the 219th overall pick.
Gray starts the next chapter of his football career with the Steelers after four successful seasons in College Park. As a left tackle throughout his college career, Gray started 22 of 24 games in the last two years. This past season, he helped block for the third-best rushing offense in the Big Ten, accumulating over 200 rushing yards in six consecutive games and amassing 444 yards against Bowling Green, the program’s most rushing yards since 1999 against Virginia.
