Maryland offensive lineman hospitalized after team workout, is in ‘critical but stable’ condition

Maryland offensive lineman Jordan McNair was hospitalized after a recent organized team workout, the university announced in a statement Monday evening. McNair is in “critical but stable” condition, according to the statement, and the university did not disclose any additional information about what led to the hospitalization.

The university also did not confirm when McNair was hospitalized, but tweets started to circulate as early as Saturday asking for prayers for McNair and his family.

McNair, a 6-foot-4, 325-pound rising redshirt sophomore, appeared in one game last season, making his college debut against Towson on Sept. 9. He attended McDonogh School in Baltimore and joined the Terrapins as a four-star prospect in the Class of 2016.
