Sophomore Tyrrell Pigrome will start at quarterback for Maryland in its 2017 season opener at No. 23 Texas Saturday, according to the depth chart released Monday by second-year coach DJ Durkin.
Pigrome beat out freshman Kasim Hill and fellow sophomore Max Bortenschlager, who are listed as No. 2 and 3, respectively.
Redshirt junior Caleb Henderson was not named on the depth chart. Many expected the North Carolina transfer to become the starter before he suffered a foot injury late in spring practice and then re-injured the foot in preseason camp.
