After using a pair of second-half comebacks to beat Georgetown and Rider last week, Maryland moved up a spot to No. 2 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Monday.
While Kentucky moved into the top spot following North Carolina’s loss to Northern Iowa this weekend, Maryland was the only other team to garner first place votes with six. Michigan State made the largest leap of any team in the rankings, jumping 10 spots to No. 3 after knocking off Kansas last week. The Jayhawks dropped to No. 5 behind Iowa State, while North Carolina fell eight spots to No.
