The Maryland men’s lacrosse team has locked up the top overall seed in the NCAA tournament for a second consecutive season and will meet the winner of Wednesday’s play-in game between Bryant and Monmouth next Sunday in College Park.
Less than 24 hours after it earned an emotional victory over Ohio State to claim its second straight Big Ten championship, Maryland was labeled as the team to beat in this year’s field by the NCAA selection committee on Sunday night. It’s the second consecutive year that Maryland has had the No. 1 seed in both the men’s and women’s tournaments.
